Welch Manufacturing Co. was established latest (1864) of the eight major clock companies in America at that time. And it quitted making clocks earliest (1903). Therefore, the Welch clocks that are extant are pretty old. This is a medium size of the drop octagon clock with an 8 inch clock face that is painted. Taking advantage of the beautiful wood grain, there is a gold leaf line around the door of the pendulum room, giving a very nice finish.
